Town Organization and Services
The
Town of Fishers was incorporated in 1872. The
Town operates under a seven-member Town Council and
a clerk-treasurer. The town Council holds the
legislative and executive powers for the Town, and
the clerk-treasurer is responsible for matters
related to the Town’s finances. The Town Council
elects a council president and vice-president each
year.
The
council is also responsible for appointing and
overseeing a Town Manager and overseeing the
Administration, Development, Fire, Police, Parks and
Recreation, Public Works, Wastewater and Information
Technology departments.
The
Town provides water treatment and some sewerage
services to residents.
The
Town’s Fire and Police Departments are accredited.
